i had to put my cat down the other night. possibly the hardest thing i had to do, so i haven’t been in the right state of mind to blog or comment anyone.
in other news, the phillies are going to the world series and that is very exciting for me, my friends, and my entire city actually.

So now it’s October, and time for an update from me. Work has seriously been driving me up a wall. This past week included, however Wednesday was a good night. On Wednesday, my friend Sara and i went to the Rocket Summer show. She wanted to see The Rocket Summer, and i wanted to see Phantom Planet who opened. The show itself was a lot of dancing fun, and i really enjoyed it. The best part about that night though was that the lead singer of Phantom Planet, Alex Greenwald, invited Sara and i to a karaoke bar after the show. So we went, and there were about 10 of us all together who just hung out in the bar with him. He’s so laid back, and so nice, and hilarious and it was seriously something i needed for a loooonnnnggg time. He agreed to do it again when they come back in February, so i’m definitely stoked. I love him.
Now in sports news: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE THE NATIONAL LEAGUE EASTERN DIVISION CHAMPS!!! 2nd year in a row, baby. And this seriously is so awesome. We’ve struggled for years just to get to the playoffs, and we finally have this amazing team together who can take us there twice. Last year, we didn’t make it past the first round of playoffs though. This past Wednesday was our first post-season win in 15 years. We just have one more game to win and then we advance to the next round. I’m nervous, excited, and super happy. I love this team so much and i’m gonna stick by them!!
Sunday is Taproot in Lancaster, PA and maybe some Sonic! Tuesday is the Flyers vs Phantoms game, which is interesting because the Flyers are our NHL and Phantoms are our AHL. It’s gonna be a really good game and i have no idea who to root for but i’m excited. Thursday is Cobra Starship, which is so soon because it felt like just yesterday that they announced the tour dates. I have 2, possibly 3 more Cobra shows next month, as well.
I’m not really sure what else to write, but thanks for suggestions with CSS tutorials and whatnot. I know it’s easy, i already have been doing some CSS for a while now. But it’s just the stylesheets that confuse the hell outta me. I’m gonna check around at tuts when i have more time. Thanks guys!

I haven’t updated in a while, and that’s mostly because i’ve been so busy with work and friends and nothing exciting is really going on.
However, i do need to work on a new layout. I’m just not sure where to start, and i can’t understand css stylesheets to make it look how i want. I was told before to try fluid layouts, except i can’t figure out how to code those right either!! I’m more html illiterate than i thought i was.
Taproot’s new cd came out yesterday, and it’s so amazing! Also, Oh, Hush!’s cd comes out very soon too, and i’m excited for that dance party.

I’m bad with subject lines, haha. Well, it’s been quite a bit since i’ve updated. After getting back from vacation and that blog about it, i’ve been pretty busy at work. That and just not wanting to spend much time on the computer in general other than watching a movie or something. It’s been pretty intense. I still have yet to even upload my Disney pictures, only because it’ll take a lot of time for me to sort through them and frankly i’m just lazy!
Sunday the 17th was The Faint, and it was one of the greatest concerts i’ve been to in a long time. I got to go with two of my best friends, Dani and Kait, and it made me really excited considering they’re two of my friends that i don’t get to see often. Dani’s from Maryland, and Kait’s from Jersey so distance always makes it somewhat hard, but we try to get together whenever possible. The Faint was the perfect opportunity. A little two man band called Shy Child opened. They were pretty decent, only having a keytar and drums, and the occasional saxophone. I was enjoying my time until the next band, Jaguar Love, came on. It’s made up of two remaining members of the Blood Brothers, who i only liked one song by…mostly because i couldn’t stand the guy’s voice. Well, either they were really off of their game that night or the sound system was blown, because after just one song i had SUCH a headache. I couldn’t understand a damn word he was singing, or saying whenever he spoke. They seemed to have gone on FOREVER and i couldn’t wait for them to end. They finally did though, and it was amazing. Oh, Craig Bonich from Head Automatica is also in the band. Ok, so next was THE FAINT and they were AMAZING. I danced the whole time. Actually, the whole venue was just one big dance party. It was my first time ever seeing them, after being into them for like 3-4 years and it was totally worth it. They played all my favorite songs, and songs from the new album which i enjoy very much, and just being there with my friends was a great time. It was so exciting that i didn’t want to go back to work the next morning, though i had to.
Work has been…eh. There are good days, and there are bad days. Mostly bad days. I guess it’s just the fact that i’m not happy being there ever. I’m still overwhelmed, and i really despise being in retail more than anything, but there’s just nothing else out there for me. Believe me, i’ve tried. I should try again once school season starts, because i know a lot of kids just get summer jobs so maybe i can move in on someone’s position. But where, is the question. I’m kind of at a point where i’m not really quite sure what i’m into, and most jobs are either retail and/or office positions: both don’t interest me at all. This would be where i tell myself “Hey, you should go back to school.” except for that fact that i wouldn’t be able to afford it, PLUS i’m still trying to pay off a student loan. They wouldn’t even allow me to apply to college until that’s paid for, i bet. And even if i did go back to school, what would i major in? I love the music business to death but i wouldn’t even know what to do. And if i went for photography, i can’t even afford a digital slr camera at the moment either. I’m 24 years old and i have no idea what to do with my life, i feel like i’m basically screwed. I’ll figure something out, i suppose. Just not soon enough.
Alright, so, Tuesday night i went to the Phillies game with my girls Taylor, Pokey, and Renee. Baseball is pretty much the ONLY sport i can get into, and my friends and i are pretty obsessed with it. Being from Philadelphia, our home team is the Phillies. Our number one rivals: New York Mets. Mets fans always come down to Philly for Phillies vs Mets games, so needless to say the stadium was full of them. The game however was INTENSE and one of the BEST games i’ve ever been to. My friend Renee explained it all so well in her journal update, but i’ll just give a little run down:
- Started the game being down 7-0
- Ryan Howard hit a home run
- Jimmy Rollins hits a home run, steals 3 bases, gets 5 hits
- We tie the game at the bottom of the ninght, 7-7
- EVERY pitcher from our bullpen pitched
- 13th inning, Shane Victorino gets a triple. The Mets then decide to intentionally walk two of our players, Jayson Wrth and Eric Bruntlett with NO outs. Bretty Myers as a pinch hitter, strikes out. Chris Coste is next, hits a single, Victorino comes home and we won 8-7.
The game lasted for over 5 hours, a game that should’ve been only 3. It was intense, it was nailbiting, and the girls/mets fans that were sitting behind us deserved to get punched in the face. I cannot wait to go to a game again, which i believe we’re getting tickets for in September. So. Exciting.
And this is mostly for me to remember…shows coming up!
October 1st—Phantom Planet in Philly (i hope so, anyway)
October 5th—Taproot in Lancaster
October 9th—Cobra Starship in Philly
October 12th—Blake Lewis in Philly
November 9th—”Mest” in Philly
November 19th—Cobra Starship in Baltimore
November 20th—Cobra Starship in Sayreville
I should probably stop spending my money on shows…
New layout in the near future, i hope. Oh, and i’ve switched from CuteNews to FanUpdate. So far, so good! Oh, and new affiliates! Check them out! Goodnight!

Hey guys, i’m back from my vacation! I was in Disney World for almost a week and a half, and it was the most exciting time ever. There was a wedding, and there was some drama with my friend’s family, but we made it through and now i’m home safe and sound. I got home around 4 am this morning, went to bed at 5 am, and slept until noon haha. I’m STILL exhausted, actually, but i probably will be for a few days. It’s sad to think i’ll be going back to work on Sunday.
I didn’t take many pictures, but i have a few that i’ll upload sometime in the next few days. Tomorrow night i will be attending a Socratic show, because i miss those guys so much. My friend went to see them the other night and they said they missed me, so i’ll go see them tomorrow. They’re a great band, and a great group of guys, and i think you should all give them a listen sometime. And then Sunday i’ll be seeing The Faint. I’m very excited since i’ve been into them for a while but never got to see them before, so this will be eventful for me. I’m really excited to dance haha.
Now i’m gonna go catch up on all the comments that i couldn’t get to while i was away. I apologize for that, really. I didn’t hiatus from Despair or Exentrique because i was under the impression that my friend’s computer would be working. Unfortunately, her screen somehow got cracked during the 20 hour drive down there, and she couldn’t use it. The hotel did have computers to use, but they were $1 for 8 minutes of internet and i wasn’t about to waste my money on that. I did have my sidekick with me, but i can only do so much and most of everyone’s websites wouldn’t even show. It sucks, but it’s all good because i’m home now haha. Time to get those comments to you guys!

I just resized and uploaded all my pics from Warped Tour on Friday, so go check them out. The show was a lot of fun, and i have an interview with Alex Suarez of Cobra Starship waiting to be uploaded here. My friend has it on her voice recorder, so as soon as i get it, i’ll post it.
I posted this on my IJ so i’ll just c&p it here, it’s basically my “recap”:
i wanted to write this whole, long, drawn out entry on warped except there isn’t really much i can say. some band covered miley cyrus which i only got to experience alone, we did interviews, we took pictures, suarez (which btw was like one of the most hilarious interviews i’ve ever been involved in) kept stalking me i’m convinced and everytime he did see me he tried to steal my sk, my sk was also held up to the crotch of one of the guys from evergreen terrace and THEN he tells us he doesn’t wear underwear, i did a lot of dancing. and i mean a lot. mostly during cobra, because i had people with me to watch me act like a fool and dance. best set of the day: cobra. no, i’m not saying it because i’m biased. honestly, i will be the first to ever say when they sound like shit and how they could’ve done better. but no, friday night they were on the ball. it was so amazing, and it’s exactly how i wanted to end a long hot day. i wish i could see them all the time
fall can’t come soon enough.
We did interviews with Cobra, Evergreen Terrace, Everytime I Die, The Academy Is, Family Force 5, The Audition, and i can’t remember who else since i was only there for a couple of them, the rest of the time i was off taking pictures. It was fun and i didn’t want life to go back to normal.
Today’s my day off from work, but naturally i didn’t want to go back on Sunday. But, Sunday and Monday at work ended up not being so bad, and i work w-f and then i’m off on Saturday. Saturday is the Download Festival which i’m really excited about because i haven’t seen the Killers in about three years. Also, Louis XIV is playing and i adore them as well. And then Sunday, i leave bright and early to drive down to Florida. I’m going to Disney with my friend and her family for almost 2 weeks. Her brother’s getting married down there, so i get to attend a Disney wedding as well! I got a new MP3 player for the ride. The picture doesn’t quite do it justice, but it’s a silver 8GB SanDisk Sansa Fuze and it’s really adorable and i’m proud it’s mine haha.
That’s it, for now!

Warped tour was on Friday which was really awesome. I have pictures of Cobra Starship, The Academy is, Reel Big Fish, Family Force 5, You Me and Everyone We Know, Say Anything, and The Audition. All are in the process of being resized and uploaded for the world to enjoy.
Did interviews with a few people. I was involved in the interview with Alex Suarez of Cobra Starship. I sat in for ones with Keith Buckly of Everytime I Die, two guys from Evergreen Terrace, The Bouncing Souls…and i can’t remember who else! But i’ll be posting the Cobra interview as soon as i get it since i had borrowed my friend’s voice recorder.
Tomorrow i have off from work, so i think i’ll work on the site a little more. Might as well just turn it into my personal blog as well I can’t figure out how to get the comments for cutenews to work right though >:| Go figure.

I had added a bunch of news to the site the day, but it somehow managed to delete itself. I’ve been busy at work, so i will try to add some more news later tonight! Thanks for your patience, guys!
In the meantime, go check out the new songs by The Faint, Taproot, and The Academy Is… . All three bands have some highly anticipated albums coming out within the next two months!
